Finding a shared story for the UK's biggest regeneration project.

Temple Quarter

Helping multiple organisations align around a common vision and communicate it with confidence, while creating the strategic foundations for a long-term place brand.

The problem

A major regeneration project brought together multiple organisations and communities, but it lacked a shared narrative that everyone could communicate with confidence.

The possibility

The challenge wasn't creating another vision; it was uncovering the one that already connected everyone. By identifying a common purpose, the partners had a clear, consistent way to discuss Temple Quarter's future.

Thought partnership & creative direction

As an independent Creative Director, I led stakeholder workshops and consultations across partner organisations to uncover shared ambitions. I developed the brand strategy, messaging framework and tone of voice, laying the foundations for a flexible identity that could work across communities, businesses and investors.

The impact

A clear strategic direction that united partners around a shared narrative and provided a consistent foundation for communicating an ambitious long-term vision.

“Toby’s creative approach was particularly good at unlocking the hidden creativity within the organisation.”
